Teaching Objectives

The objectives of English teaching in Kwong Tai from Secondary one to six are manifested in our English curriculum and co-curricular programmes. We aim to:

  • build a strong interface among all forms with curricula, including primary, junior secondary, and senior secondary, to ensure a seamless learning experience that supports students' continuous language development
  • lay a solid foundation at the junior secondary level by cultivating good study habits, fostering self-directed learning, and implementing interactive lessons.
  • cultivate a wide reading habit through graded readers of fiction and non-fiction books
  • encourage participation in inter-class and inter-school English activities and competitions
  • provide English bridging programmes, reading programmes, and integrated projects to cater for the diversity of learners.

Our Vision and Mission

Our English Panel aspires to develop students' English language proficiency by providing them with a language-rich environment that encourages self-directed learning. In this regard, and in response to the requirements of the Basic Academic Attainments for formal education in the local education system and the University admission examinations, we are committed to nurturing students' motivation to learn English, developing their skills in preparing for and taking public examinations, and using English effectively in daily communication. We believe that learning English at Kwong Tai is not merely a school subject, but an enriching experience that broadens students' horizons, deepens their knowledge, and serves as a key to effective communication in global communities. Undoubtedly, mastering and using English will become a crucial part of their lifelong journey.
